New Website Launched - Lions' Share

We’re proud to announce the launch of a new fund-raising website for Peterborough Lions. Called “Lions’ Share”, it simply acts a a gateway to dozens of well known websites where if you then buy something, a share of the sale comes back to Peterborough Lions to use to support our projects. It doesn’t cost you anything extra, and you don’t have to give us any personal or credit card details - you still buy from directly the shops websites as usual. In some cases you can even reserve items to collect from your nearest store, paying in store as usual, and we still get a share of the sale value!

Take a look at the Lions’ Share website at www.lions-share.org.uk for more information, or jump straight to the list of all the current suppliers you can buy from through Lions’ Share - a list that’s growing all the time!

A Christmas card from Phuket

View the Phuket Sunshine Village 2012 photo gallery.

For the last five years Peterborough Lions Club has been a sponsor of children living in the Phuket Sunshine Village. The aim of the Village is to protect and assist disadvantaged children affected by the Tsunami in the four southern Thailand provinces. It provides education and give access to public health services to underprivileged children.

Our previous sponsorship helped the education of two children who attended the Village. Our current sponsorship is helping Supattra, a girl who has been orphaned and is now living full time at the Village. This has given her stability in her life and she is now making friends and getting an education.

We recently received this Christmas card from Supattra with some photographs of the village.

Merry Christmas!

All the Peterborough Lions would like to thank the people of Peterborough and surrounding areas for your support over the past year, and for your donations, whether you saw us with Santa and his Carol Float in the past weeks, or bought a quiz leaflet, or any of the other ways we’ve been supported in 2011.

Rest assured all the money raised will be put to good uses (if it hasn’t already!), and be just as assured our fundraising efforts will be back in the New Year to provide resources for welfare and projects in 2012.

We hope you have a great Christmas! See you soon!

Carol float to add Dobbies to its route (weather permitting...)

All being well, Peterborough Lions carol float will be making an extra stop at Dobbies garden centre in Hampton, on the evening of Thursday 15th December - although the weather forecast is making it less than certain! If you can brave the weather, come and see us!

We’d like to thank Dobbies and all the other Peterborough stores who have allowed us to take up some valuable space outside their stores at this busy time of year.
