Peterborough Lions has been around for over half a century. Here is a timeline of the major events in that time.
Peterborough Lions Club founded
Members shared simple aims: community service, fundraising for those less fortunate within the community and further afield, and fellowship while doing it. Fifty years on, the same aims still hold true.
Club website launched
The club's first public site went live, sharing news, service projects, and ways for visitors to get involved.
Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Registered with the Charity Commission as CIO-1182110, succeeding the earlier registered charity 283355.
Golden anniversary celebrated
The club marked fifty years since charter with reflections on decades of local welfare, international projects, and fellowship — still welcoming new members and visitors.
Annual quiz tradition continues
Each September a new quiz goes on sale through Christmas, with entries accepted until mid-January. Past issues remain available while stocks last.
